Logan Day Breaks Training Camp With Philadelphia Flyers

A total of 58 players are currently scheduled to attend training camp - 32 forwards, 20 defensemen — including Day — and five goaltenders.

The first three days of training camp will feature the roster split into three groups with identical schedules each day and groups switching time slots. Earlier this year, Day signed a contract extension with Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Flyers, for the 2021-22 season.

Day, who is the first student-athlete in program history to sign a pro contract, was previously on a one-year deal with the Phantoms for only the 2020-21 season.

So far during his professional hockey career (2017-present), Day has played in 145 games and recorded 66 points (16 G, 50 A) as a member of the Bakersfield Condors (AHL, 2017-20) and the Phantoms (2020-21).

On Tuesday, Sept. 28, the Flyers will begin their 2021 preseason schedule with a game against the New York Islanders at 7 PM at Wells Fargo Center. Meanwhile, the Flyers' season and home opener is set for Friday, Oct. 15 vs. Vancouver Canucks at 7 PM.
