BIDDEFORD, Maine – The second-seeded Endicott men's ice hockey team fell to first-seeded University of New England (UNE), 3-2, in overtime on Saturday night in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship at the Harold Alfond Forum.
Jared Christy (Costa Mesa, Calif.) potted the game-winner on a redirection near the right post at the 3:39 mark of OT.
Endicott held leads of 1-0 (18:52, 2nd period) and 2-0 (15:54, 3rd period) via goals from Mitch Shaheen (North Andover, Mass.), but the Nor'easters never wavered despite the deficits as evidenced by UNE's game-tying goal with 48-seconds to play.
Meanwhile, in goal, Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.) stopped 32 shots in the loss (19-6-1).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Nor'easters extended their winning streak to 11 straight games (2/1/22-3/5/22).
- UNE is 12-2-0 at home this season.
- The Nor'easters captured their second CCC Championship in program history.
