MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Endicott women's volleyball team is set to take on Salisbury in the NCAA DIII Tournament on Thursday at 12:30 PM. The regional pod will be hosted at Wesleyan (Conn.) with all matches taking place in the Freeman Athletic Center from Thursday to Saturday (Nov. 10-12). Here's a preview of Thursday's match.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • This is the first meeting between the two programs on the volleyball court. Both institutions sport the mascot of the Gulls. 
  • Endicott (22-8) advanced to the NCAA DIII Tournament after having claimed the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) title, and with it, the Automatic Qualiyfing (AQ) bid, on Saturday in a clean 3-0 sweep (RECAP)
  • The Gulls of Salisbury were selected with an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament after falling in the Coast-to-Coast Conference championship match to Mary Washington 3-1 (RECAP).
  • The Blue and Green enter the match having out-hit opponents .232 to .178 on the season, while Salisbury holds a .185 to .118 advantage over opponents on the year.
  • Endicott is led by graduate outside Amanda Gilbert (Hopkinton, Mass.) who has accumulated 369 kills (3.69/set) on the season while hitting .281. Salisbury will ride the arm of senior outside Amanda Chew who currently has registered 383 kills (3.79/set) in 2022.

WHAT'S NEXT

The winner of Thursday's match between Endicott (22-8) and Salisbury (20-8) will advance to take on the winner of AVCA No. 8 NYU (25-6) vs. Westfield St. (13-11) on Friday in the round of 32 at 4:30 PM.
