Matthews, Neils, and Jewett Receive All-Region II Recognition

UNITED SOCCER COACHES ALL-REGION TEAMS | GULLS' ALL-REGION HISTORY

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Three members of the Endicott women's soccer team have been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region II teams, as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior defender Carly Matthews (Suffield, Conn.) and sophomore midfielder Callie Neils (Brentwood, N.H.) garnered All-Region II Second Team honors, while senior forward Grace Jewett (Millis, Mass.) was named to the Third Team.

SECOND TEAM ALL-REGION

CARLY MATTHEWS | SR. | D | SUFFIELD, Conn.

Endicott's senior captain and defender started in all 20 games for the Gulls this season.

Her efforts as the team's stopper guided the Gulls to the second-ranked defense in the Conference of New England (CNE) (0.85 goals allowed per game; 17 goals allowed total).

Additionally, she proved herself to be a model of consistency on the backline, having played the full 90 minutes in all but one game for the Blue and Green this year (Wentworth, 10/5/24, 3-0 W, 86 minutes played).

The Second Team appearance marks Matthews' first career All-Region II team honors.

SECOND TEAM ALL-REGION

CALLIE NEILS | SO. | M | BRENTWOOD, N.H.

Always having an impact on Endicott's steady midfield play, Neils is now a two-time United Soccer Coaches All-Region honoree (2023 All-Region II First Team).

She was a vital component of both the Gulls' offense and defense, constantly making the right decision with her passing and hard-nosed play. This season, she patrolled the midfield in each of Endicott's 20 games, starting each of which.

As a defensive-midfielder, she had a knack for thwarting the opposition's attack and regaining possession for the Gulls all season long.

Offensively, she posted career-high numbers of 24 attempted shots and 12 shots on net in her sophomore season.

Her precision and physicality brought fifth-seeded Endicott back to the CNE Semifinal round for the ninth consecutive season.

THIRD TEAM ALL-REGION

GRACE JEWETT | SR. | F | MILLIS, Mass.

The Gulls' senior forward had another stellar season following last year's All-Region II Second Team honors.

She claims her second career All-Region selection after a season in which she led the team in scoring (four goals), ranked second in points (10), and tied for third in assists (two).

Over her career-high 20 starts, she posted 29 shots, 17 shots on goal, and a .586 shot on goal percentage.

Her All-Region worthy season was highlighted by her brace against Wentworth on October 5 (3-0 W) and her three-point performance (goal, assist) at Curry on September 27 (3-1 W).

Additionally, her 10 goals scored over the course of the past two seasons are tied for most among all Gulls scorers.

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott posted a 10-6-4 overall record and secured the fifth seed in the CNE Tournament. The Gulls won their first round matchup at WNE, 2-0, but fell to Hartford in the CNE Semifinals on November 5, consequently ending their season.

The 10-win season was the fourth multi-digit win performance in the past five seasons for the Blue and Green.
