EAST BOSTON, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Conference of New England (CNE) opponent Suffolk on Wednesday night at East Boston Memorial Park.
Madeline Barbieri (Cranston, R.I.) played provider for the opening goal. She latched onto a loose ball and chipped it to an open Morgan Hubert (Southington, Conn.) at the back-post. The senior forward calmly headed it in to give the Gulls the advantage in the 18th minute.
The Blue and Green did not take their foot off the gas, recording 11 shots in the first half as they continued to search for an insurance tally.
The second half saw the two teams battle for possession, with both having their fair share of shots in the first 30 minutes.
The Rams scored the equalizer in the 75th minute off a corner set piece that bounced around inside the box and ultimately found the back of the net.
Alyssa McColl (Stoughton, Mass.) was feet away from providing late-game heroics as her shot slipped through the goalkeeper's hands but did not trickle in.
The buzzer sounded a few minutes later, concluding the 1-1 battle.
Samantha MacCormack (Danvers, Mass.) recorded two saves in the contest and saw her record move to 4-2-2 on the season.
