Women's Soccer, Gordon Play To 1-1 Draw

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team and crosstown rival Gordon played to a 1-1 draw in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Hempstead Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Gulls opened the scoring just five minutes into the game as Morgan Hubert (Southington, Conn.) found some space out wide, dribbled into the box, and crossed to an outstretched Grace Jewett (Millis, Mass.) for a tap-in at the back post to give Endicott the early advantage.

Endicott continued to dominate the rest of the half, finishing with 10 shots, but did not add to its one-goal lead before the buzzer sounded.

The Blue and Green's defense held the Fighting Scots to just one shot in the opening half.

The Fighting Scots found the equalizer four minutes into the second period after they were awarded a penalty kick.

Endicott goalkeeper Samantha MacCormack (Danvers, Mass.) saved the initial attempt, but, Gordon's rebound shot made its way into the back of the net.

The Gulls pushed hard for a second half game-winner, as they outshot the visitors 12-6 in the second half.

However, they were unable to find a tally despite several close chances, encapsulated by a Hubert shot off the crossbar in the 64th minute.

MacCormack recorded six saves in the draw (3-1-1).
