Women's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Stalemate With Emerson

BOSTON, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw at Emerson College in Wednesday evening's non-conference action at Rotch Field.

In the first half, the Gulls outpossessed the Lions, and ended up outshooting the hosts 10-3 in the opening 45 minutes (five shots on goal).

Gabrielle Klindtworth (Guilderland, N.Y.) highlighted the first half offense, as she put up two shots on net (both saved) in the opening frame.

Unfortunately for the Gulls, similar to Saturday's contest at Union, they were unable to muster enough offense to find the back of the Lions' net, as the second half saw more scoreless play from both offenses.

The defensive unit of Madeline Barbieri (Cranston, R.I.), Chloe Bauman (Southington, Conn.), Michelle Donahue (Melrose, Mass.), and Carly Matthews (Suffield, Conn.) were stellar once again. The Gulls defense limited the Lions to just six total shots (three on net), aiding goalkeeper Rosalina Caliri (East Greenwich, R.I.) to her third shutout of the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls advance to 5-1-2 in the all-time series against the Lions.
  • With her three-save shutout tonight, Caliri is now nine shutouts away from setting a program record.
  • The second half featured just seven total shots (four Endicott, three Emerson).
  • Ella Morgan (Salem, Mass.) made her first start of the season and played a season-high 67 minutes in the match.
  • First time the Gulls have been shut out in back-to-back contests since September 24, 2022.
