BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team has received four all-conference honors (one first team, three second team) and one Community Service Team award in its 2024 Conference of New England (CNE) postseason awards.
Senior defender Carly Matthews (Suffield, Conn.) was named as the Gulls' lone member of the All-CNE First Team, while Grace Jewett (Millis, Mass.), Callie Neils (Brentwood, N.H.) and Michelle Donahue (Melrose, Mass.) were all named to the Second Team. Meanwhile, Madeline Barbieri (Cranston, R.I.) represented the Gulls on the CNE's Community Service Team.
CARLY MATTHEWS | FIRST TEAM ALL-CNE
Endicott's senior captain and defender started in all 18 games for the Gulls this season. Her efforts as the team's stopper guided the Gulls to the second-ranked defense in the CNE (15 goals allowed; 0.65 per game). Additionally, she was a model of consistency on the backline, having played the full 90 minutes in all but one game for the Blue and Green this year (Wentworth, 10/5/24, 3-0 W, 86 minutes played). This is the second career All-Conference honor Matthews has earned, and first career First Team appearance.
GRACE JEWETT | SECOND TEAM ALL-CNE
The Gulls' senior forward had another stellar season following last year's all-conference First Team honors. In her 18 starts, she posted four goals (team high), 17 shots on goal (team high), two assists, and 29 total shots. She was a top offensive option for the Blue and Green throughout the year, highlighted by her brace against Wentworth on 10/5/24 and her three-point performance (goal, assist) at Curry on September 27.
CALLIE NEILS | SECOND TEAM ALL-CNE
Always having an impact on Endicott's steady midfield play, Neils is now a two-time All-Conference team member (2023 All-CCC First Team). This season, she has patrolled the midfield in all 18 of Endicott's games, having started each. As a defensive-midfielder, she has had a knack for thwarting the opposition's attack and regaining possession for the Gulls throughout the year. Offensively, she has attempted career-high numbers of 24 shots and 12 shots on net in her sophomore season thus far.
MICHELLE DONAHUE | SECOND TEAM ALL-CNE
Donahue is a first-time member of the All-Conference squad. Her junior season has been nothing short of brilliant thus far, as she's locked down the back line while providing an offensive lift on multiple occasions. Over the 2024 season, she's started each of Endicott's 18 games and has played the full 90 minutes in all but two of those contests. She's also scored two goals and tallied an assist on the year, having shown great improvements in her offensive game. She's registered career-highs in goals, assists, points, shots (26), shots on goal (13), and game-winning goals (one).
MADELINE BARBIERI | COMMUNITY SERVICE TEAM
In the inaugural year of the CNE's Community Service Team, Barbieri was chosen to represent Endicott as its member. Barbieri has been an outstanding example of what it represents to be a Gull on and off the field throughout her career, and even more so this season. She has appeared in all 18 games for the Blue and Green this season, but her body of work beyond the field has been even more impressive. Barbieri has gone to great lengths to connect Endicott women's soccer Team IMPACT member, Izzy, with the team at an extremely up close level. Her dedication to making Izzy and Endicott's season a great one has drawn the attention of coaches around the league, and that (among other incredible selfless acts) has earned her a spot on the CNE Community Service Team.
