BEVERLY, Mass. — Lauren Pien [pea-N] has been named the next head coach of the Endicott College women's soccer program, as announced earlier today by Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Brian A. Wylie. Her official start date is Monday, February 24, 2025.
"I am thrilled to announce Lauren Pien as our next women's soccer head coach. What became immediately apparent of Coach Pien during this process was her clear vision for taking an already successful program and making us better. We share many of the same values when it comes to academic standards and athletic excellence too," said Wylie. "In speaking with her, you can feel Coach Pien's strong sense of competitive spirit and expectation. Her style as an excellent communicator, approachability with our student-athletes, and setting a high standard of accountability throughout the program is what we can expect when she arrives at Endicott."
Pien comes to Endicott from the University of Rochester (N.Y.), where she served as the Yellowjackets' assistant coach and lead recruiting coordinator for the past three seasons (2022-2025).
During that span, Rochester posted a 34-9-13 record (.723), made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2023 (Elite 8) and 2024 (round of 32), and finished each of those seasons in the top-15 nationally (2023, No. 6 | 2024, No. 11).
The 2023 season culminated in the Yellowjackets' staff receiving University Athletic Association (UAA) Coaching Staff of the Year and United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Region 3 Staff of the Year honors, respectively.
Pien's additional coaching duties at Rochester included leading player performance analysis through data-driven decision-making, creating training session plans, hiring and managing camp staff, organizing team travel, planning road trip itineraries, reserving hotels, and arranging bus transportation, among other duties within the program.
"I am unbelievably excited to be named the next head coach of the Endicott women's soccer program. Thank you to Dr. Wylie and the search committee for believing in me and my vision for the program and for making Endicott a welcoming community the moment I stepped on campus," said Pien. "I look forward to working alongside an exceptional group of student-athletes and colleagues as we strive for greatness together."
Before her time at Rochester, Pien held assistant coaching roles at Bates College (2021-22, women's soccer) in Lewiston, Maine, and Merritt College (2019-21, men's/women's soccer) in Oakland, California.
Pien was responsible for conducting training sessions, assisting with team/gameday operations, recruiting, and managing team social media accounts.
The Andover, Massachusetts native also brings a wealth of head coaching experience at the youth and high school levels from various parts of the country.
She has led the following programs over her coaching career:
Andover Soccer Association (2010, U10/U12 girls, Massachusetts)
RNY FC (2022-2024, U15/U16 girls, New York)
Seacoast United SC (2021-22, U19/U17 girls DPL, Maine)
Livermore Fusion SC (2016-2021, U8/U9 boys & girls, U14-U19 girls, California)
Moreau Catholic High School (2018-2021, boys & girls varsity coach, California)
Pien was selected to the 2020-21 class of the United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 Program and currently holds her USSF C License.
She is a 2016 graduate of the University of Rochester (U of R) with dual degrees in computer science and digital media studies.
A four-year member of the Yellowjackets women's soccer program, Pien earned three varsity letters, played in 43 of 52 possible games at the midfield position, and earned UAA All-Academic honors.
Pien is expected to complete an advanced certificate in data science from U of R later this year (May 2025).
