BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's soccer team defeated Wentworth, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon in Conference of New England (CNE) play at Hempstead Stadium.
The Gulls opened the scoring in the sixth minute as Grace Jewett (Millis, Mass.) fired a header into the bottom right corner of the net off an Ella Morgan (Salem, Mass.) corner.
Morgan also held down the midfield, contributing four shots for the Gulls as the pressure continued to pile on the Leopards in the rest of the first half.
Despite ending up with 11 shots in the first 45 minutes, Endicott was unable to put another goal up on the scoreboard before the break.
In the second half, Jewett made it 2-0 in the 62nd minute when she tapped home a Morgan Hubert (Southington, Conn.) rebound for her second of the game (15th career).
Nearly seven minutes later (68:20), Gabrielle Klindtworth (Guilderland, N.Y.) added an insurance tally via a penalty kick to conclude the scoring.
Samantha MacCormack (Danvers, Mass.) recorded one save in the win (3-1-0 overall).
