SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — The Endicott women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season to Union, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at College Park Field.
The Gulls outshot the Garnet Chargers 10-4 in the contest, but were never able to capitalize on their opportunities.
The difference maker came in the 31st minute, as a foul in the box set up a penalty kick for the Garnet Chargers, which they cashed in.
Madeline Barbieri (Cranston, R.I.) paced the offense with three shots (two on net). She nearly hit a game-tying shot in the 78th minute, but the Union goalkeeper deflected the ball off target and out of play to keep the Gulls scoreless.
Rosalina Caliri (East Greenwich, R.I.) picked up a save in net, as her defense once again limited opponents to a low shot total.
