Thieben Crowned NCAA Division III Statistical Champion

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott junior goalie Bailey Thieben (North Syracuse, N.Y.) has been named the NCAA Division III Women's Ice Hockey Statistical Champion for goals against average (GAA).

Thieben recorded a 0.802 GAA in 598:10 of action between the pipes for Endicott. Thieben was the only goalie in the country to have a GAA under .850 on the year.

Overall on the season, Thieben posted a 9-1-0 record alongside a .945 save percentage. Thieben's winning percentage (.900) ranked No. 3 overall in the country, while her save percentage and shutout (6) numbers were both sixth in Division III.

Thieben is the second student-athlete in program history to claim an NCAA Statistical Championship, joining Jillian Gibbs '20 M'22 (Burlington, Vt.) on the list (GWG, 2018-19).

As a team, the Gulls have compiled four NCAA Statistical Championships, winning the award for the best penalty kill percentage in 2016-17 and most efficient power play in 2019-20.
