No. 8 Women’s Ice Hockey Blanks Salve Regina, 5-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 8 nationally ranked Endicott women's ice hockey team shut out Salve Regina, 5-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Friday night at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Kat Keith (Westwood, Mass.) guided the Gulls in the win with a pair of power play goals — including the game-winner — to push Endicott to 2-0-0 on the season.

Meaghan Francis (Woodbridge, Conn.), Tara Henshaw (Babylon, N.Y.), and Kellie Popkin (Walpole, Mass.) also found the back of the net in the victory.

Meanwhile, Bailey Thieben (North Syracuse, N.Y.) stopped nine shots in her first start on the year (1-0-0 overall, 7-0-0 career, 4th career shutout).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Henshaw potted her first career goal at the 12:02 mark of the second period. 
  • Endicott improved to 11-0-2 all-time against Salve Regina.
  • The Gulls are now 56-9-6 (.831) all-time at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

WHAT'S NEXT

No. 8 Endicott (2-0-0, 1-0-0 CCC) travels to Salve Regina tomorrow at 7 PM. Spectators are not allowed at tomorrow's game, per COVID-19 protocols at St. George's Rink.
