No. 8 Women's Ice Hockey Shuts Out Nichols, 2-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 8 nationally ranked Endicott women's ice hockey team blanked Nichols, 2-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday evening at the Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Knotted at zero heading into the second period of play, Jacy Kuhlman (Severna Park, Md.) scored at the 17:46 mark to give Endicott a 1-0 advantage. 

From there, Tabitha Franceschini (Brick, N.J.) potted the second goal of the game (13:48) in the third period to help the Gulls secure back-to-back victories over the Bison. 

In goal for Endicott, Bailey Thieben (North Syracuse, N.Y.) collected 13 saves to secure the seventh shutout of her collegiate career (fourth SHO this season, 5-1-0 overall, 11-1-0 career).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Endicott is 13-2-1 in the all-time series against Nichols (eighth shutout over Nichols). 
  • The Gulls have only dropped one game at Raymond J. Bourque Arena versus the Bison in program history (8-1-1). 
  • Endicott is 5-0-1 at home this year. 
  • Morgan Sisson (Concord, N.H.), Kuhlman, and Sami Barletta (Walpole, Mass.) all notched assists in the win. 
  • Kuhlman ranks second on the Gulls in goals (7) and fourth on the team in points (10). 
  • With tonight's win, the Blue and Green cap off their regular season series against Nichols with a 2-0-1 record. 
  • Sami Barletta (Walpole, Mass.) registered her first point of the season with an assist on Franceschini's goal.

WHAT'S NEXT  

No. 8 Endicott (11-3-1, 9-1-1 CCC) hosts Hamilton (8-4) on Friday, January 21 at 6 PM.

Nichols (6-5-1, 4-4-1) hosts New England College (3-9) on Wednesday, January 19 at 6:40PM.
