No. 10 Women’s Ice Hockey Handles UNE, 3-1

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 10 nationally ranked Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated the University of New England (UNE), 3-1, on Sunday evening in conference action at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Endicott received goals from Meaghan Francis (Woodbridge, Conn.), Payton Hansen (Spring City, Pa.), and Kellie Popkin (Walpole, Mass.) in the victory.

In goal, Michaela O'Brien (Pembroke, Mass.) made 21 saves to improve to 7-3-1 overall on the season (15-3-1 career).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Hansen potted her first career goal, which also served as the game-winner, at the 3:02 mark of the third.
  • The Gulls are 9-2-0 all-time against UNE.
  • Endicott is 7-1-1 at home this season.
  • Francis finished the contest with one goal and one assist (first multi-point game of the season).
  • Fascetta registered her first career assist on Hansen's game-winner.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (14-4-1, 12-2-1 CCC) travels to Western New England on Friday, February 11 at 7 PM. UNE (6-10-2, 6-6-2 CCC) visits Suffolk next Friday at 6 PM.
