No. 7 Women’s Ice Hockey, Nichols Skate To 1-1 OT Draw

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 7 nationally ranked Endicott women's ice hockey skated to a 1-1 overtime draw against Nichols in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday evening at the Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Tied 0-0 late in the second period, Jacy Kuhlman (Severna Park, Md.) broke the stalemate at 18:29 when she roofed a shot top corner blocker side from the left faceoff dot for her sixth tally of the season.

From there, Nichols found the equalizer at the 19:30 mark of the third via a Kara Santoro (Wolcott, Mass.) shot from the left point that found the back of the net through traffic.

Both teams created plenty of scoring chances in the 3-on-3 overtime period, but Endicott goalie Michaela O'Brien (Pembroke, Mass.) and Nichols netminder Victoria Bakopanos (Kirkland, Quebec) were equally up to the task stopping eight and four shots, respectively.

Bakopanos finished the contest with 45 saves (18-17-6-4), while O'Brien compiled 27 saves (5-8-6-8).
