No. 9 Endicott Bests Salve Regina On Senior Day, 7-2

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 9 nationally ranked Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated Salve Regina, 7-2, on Saturday evening in conference action at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Prior to the game, Tabitha Franceschini (Brick, N.J.)Meaghan Francis (Woodbridge, Conn.)Jacy Kuhlman (Severna Park, Md.), and Courtney Sullivan (North Yarmouth, Maine) were all honored for their contributions to the program and the Endicott community.

In the first period, Kuhlman, Franceschini, and  Samantha Fantasia (Billerica, Mass.) all potted goals (:19, 11:35, 19:40) to give the Gulls an early 3-0 advantage. 

From there, Emmerson Hayes (Los Angeles, Calif.) found the back of the net at the 15:57 stamp of the second period, while Kat Keith (Westwood, Mass.), Payton Hansen (Spring City, Pa.), and Kaylee Liberty (Arlington Heights, Ill.) rounded out the scoring efforts for Endicott at the 10:16, 11:22, and 17:17 marks of the third period, respectively. 

In net, Bailey Thieben (North Syracuse, N.Y.) recorded 11 saves in the victory (9-1-0 overall | 15-1-0 career).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Endicott is 13-0-2 in the all-time series against Salve Regina. 
  • Kuhlman has scored a career-high 11 goals this season (25 total career, 1-7-6-11 from 2018-present). 
  • Hayes one-timed home her second goal of the year. 
  • Keith and Liberty are tied for third on the team with seven goals apiece. 
  • The Gulls capped off their 2021-2022 regular season with an 8-1-1 record at The Nest. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (17-4-1, 15-2-1 CCC) has earned a first-round bye in the upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament and will host the lowest remaining seed in the semifinals on Saturday, February 26 at a time to be determined later. Salve Regina (5-15-3, 4-11-3 CCC) will compete in the CCC Tournament next week. Official seedings will be announced by the conference over the weekend, once all results from tonight's league games are final.
