Men’s Hockey Bests Salem State, 4-1

Salem, Mass. — The Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated Salem State, 4-1, Saturday afternoon at Rockett Arena. 

After going down, 1-0 early in the first period the Gulls rattled off four straight goals, one in period one and three in period two. 

Opening the Endicott scoring was Jason Kalinowski (Stamford, Conn.) who scored on the power play at 13:44 in the first period to tie the game at one.

Then in period two, Luke Rodgers (Clarkson, Mich.), Zach Mazur (Lancaster, N.Y.), and James Winkler (York, Maine) all scored to give the Gulls a 4-1 lead. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Noah Strawn (Wareham, Mass.), Bump Lisk (Lawrenceville, N.J.), Elliott Clemmons (Rochester, N.Y.), Mitch Shaheen (North Andover, Mass.), Jake Simons (x2) (Coral Springs, Fla.), Rodgers, and Mazur were all credit with assists in tonight's contest. 
  • Endicott goaltender Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.) made 14 saves in net to move to 1-0-0 on the season. 
  • Strawn, Mazur, Clemmons, Craig, and Shaheen all earned their first career point for Endicott. 
  • The Gulls have now won eight straight over Salem State. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (1-0-0) hosts Curry on Friday, November 8 at 7:15 PM for their first Commonwealth Coast Conference. Salem State (0-1-0) travels to Westfield State on Thursday, November 14 at 7:35 PM.
