No. 1 Baseball Routs MIT on Senior Day, 15-2

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 1 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team closed out its 2024 regular season campaign with a 15-2 Senior Day win over MIT at North Field.

Before the game, the 2024 senior class of Nicholas Cannata (Marlborough, Conn.), J.P. Catellier (Springfield, Mass.), Patrick Crowley (Dracut, Mass.), Will Fox (West Hartford, Conn.), Joey Frammartino (North Reading, Mass.), Jordan Gottesman (Acton, Mass.), Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.), John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.), Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.), Brendan O'Neil (Ponte Vedra, Fla.), Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth, Mass.), and Taylor Yates (Saint Albans, Vt.) were honored for their contributions to the Endicott program.

WP (2-0): Chris Jenkins (Mansfield, Mass.) — 1.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
LP (0-2): Jonathan Berger (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) — 1.0 IP, 0 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 0 K

After MIT took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, the Gulls answered with a five-run second inning and didn't look back.

The second-inning rally was highlighted by Danny MacDougall's (Taunton, Mass.) two-run single to center field, scoring Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood, Mass.) and Frammartino.

The Gulls continued to pile on runs throughout the contest despite their season-low five hits in the game.

In the eighth, they blew the game wide open with a seven-run frame. The offensive burst was led by Wladkowski's two-run single, Pacheco's bases-clearing double, and MacDougall's second RBI single of the game.

Cannata got the start for the Gulls and delivered four strong innings with just two earned runs allowed, striking out six Engineers along the way. He turned the ball over to Jenkins, who made his first appearance since March 19 and earned the win with his scoreless fifth inning (2 K's).

Kyan Bagshaw (Amherst, N.H.), Matt Pappalardo (Methuen, Mass.), Evan Scully (Maynard, Mass.), Catellier, and Crowley combined to close out the final four scoreless innings for the Blue and Green in the 15-2 Senior Day win.
