No. 2 Baseball Sweeps Colby, 5-1 & 2-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 2 Endicott baseball team swept Colby, 5-1 and 2-0, on a brisk Saturday evening at North Field.

GAME ONE: Endicott 4, Colby 1

WP (2-0): Jordan Gottesman (Acton, Mass.) – 5.1 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K
LP (0-1): Nicholas Thompson (Scarborough, Maine) – 4.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 2 K
SV (1): Kyan Bagshaw (Amherst, N.H.) – 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

The Gulls scratched across solo runs in the second (FC RBI) and fourth (error) innings to take an early 2-0 advantage in the contest.

Following three scoreless innings of play, Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.) and Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood, Mass.) added some much-needed insurance on the scoreboard in the eighth via back-to-back bases loaded walks (4-0 lead).

Colby broke up the shutout in the ninth on a two-out RBI double to right field, but that was it for the Mules' offense as Bagshaw rolled over a ground ball to first to wrap up the victory.

GAME TWO: Endicott 2, Colby 0

WP (1-0): Brady Stuart (Hudson, Mass.) – 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K
LP (0-1): Joe Sylvester (Hingham, Mass.) – 3 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
SV (1): Will Fox (West Hartford, Conn.) – 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K

Brendan O'Neil (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) and John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) provided the offense with RBI singles in the first and third innings, respectively.

Charlie Hale (Brookline, N.H.) got the start and punched out a career-high seven batters over four scoreless frames (4 H, 2 BB).

Stuart and Fox combined the rest of the way to complete Endicott's first shutout of the season.
