MacDougall, Walsh Represent Gulls With CCC Weekly Honors

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott baseball junior infielder Danny MacDougall (Taunton, Mass.) and freshman outfielder Brenden Walsh (Reading, Mass.) have been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

The two were each a vital part of No. 1 Endicott's 3-1 week in Florida, with wins against No. 9 Johns Hopkins, SUNY Cobleskill, and conference rival Western New England.

Over the course of the four games, MacDougall slashed .471/.526/1.235 alongside seven runs scored, five extra-base hits (1 2B, 4 HR), 12 RBI, two walks, and a stolen base in the 3-1 (1-0 CCC) week for the Gulls.

Against No. 9 Johns Hopkins (W, 14-8) on Monday, MacDougall went 3-for-5 at the plate, launched a three-run homer, scored four times, and knocked in five; the last two stats tied career highs. The Blue Jays lost in the D3 national championship winner-take-all game last season.

MacDougall also registered three multi-hit games, three multi-RBI contests, and notched multiple extra-base hits in two matchups on the week.

In Saturday's 12-2 seven inning mercy-rule win over WNE, he launched a career-high tying two homers and registered a 2-4 day at the plate with four RBI's and two runs scored overall.

Walsh slashed .385/.467/.385 and registered five hits, three runs, three RBI, two walks, and a stolen base in the Blue and Green's successful week.

He had at least one hit in all four games played, including his first career multi-hit effort against Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Tuesday (8-4 L).

He also scored a career-high three runs in the 14-8 victory against No. 9 Johns Hopkins.

This marks MacDougall's first career CCC Player of the Week award, and Walsh's first career CCC Rookie of the Week award.
