BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 20 regionally ranked Endicott women's tennis team defeated Emerson, 8-1, on Friday evening at the South Campus Tennis Courts.
Endicott swept doubles in reverse order to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the match.
Yolanda Mendonca (Albany, N.Y.) / Ashley Klauck (Magnolia, Texas) turned in an 8-1 triumph at No. 3, while Ana Mar Molina (Sachse, Texas) / Samantha Hartmann (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J.) posted an 8-4 victory at No. 2.
Kaitlin Fitzgibbons (Nashua, N.H.) / Shelby Henry (Lincoln, Neb.) went on to complete the sweep with an 8-3 win at No. 1.
In singles, Hartmann gave the Gulls a 4-0 advantage with a 6-3, 6-0 decision at No. 3 before Henry clinched the match at No. 1 via a 6-4, 6-2 score.
Endicott also saw Molina (No. 4, 6-1, 6-2), Fitzgibbons (No. 2, 2-6, 6-1, 7-5), and Mendonca (No. 6, 7-5, 7-0) collected victories to account for the 8-1 final.

"We did a lot of good things and it was nice to see all 12 student-athletes engaged throughout the match," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo. "The team is training hard and has definitely earned a few days off this weekend."
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

- Henry is second on the team in singles wins with nine.
