Bates Tops Women’s Tennis, 7-2

LEWISTON, Maine — The Endicott women's tennis team lost to Bates, 7-2, in non-conference action on Saturday evening at the Wallach Tennis Center.

In doubles, Ripley Uyeda (Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif.) / Lejla Guster (Wethersfield, Conn.) got the lone victory for the Gulls at No. 1 by an 8-5 score.

Meanwhile, in singles, Olivia Berler (Marstons Mills, Mass.) produced a hard-fought win at No. 4 (4-6, 6-4, 10-5).

"We had our teeth in all the matches. Their shot tolerance is a little higher than ours. If we can continue to improve by staying tighter and running more offensive plays, the match would be a 5-4 result," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls end the regular season 32-16 in doubles (.667) and 58-37 in singles (.610).
  • Berler leads the Gulls with eight singles victories this season.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (9-3) has earned the No. 1 seed in next week's Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) playoffs. The official playoff bracket will be announced by the CCC next week.
