Women’s Tennis Sweeps Salve Regina, 9-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's tennis team defeated Salve Regina, 9-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday afternoon at the South Campus Tennis Courts.

In doubles, the pairings of Shelby Henry (Lincoln, Neb.) / Olivia Martinelli (Coral Springs, Fla.), Olivia Berler (Marstons Mills, Mass.) / Ashley Keaveney (Exeter, N.H.), and Ana Mar Molina (Sachse, Texas) / Ashley Klauck (Magnolia, Texas) were victorious at No. 2 (8-1), No. 1 (8-5), and No. 3 (8-4), in respective order of finish.

Berler followed with a swift 6-3, 6-0 triumph at No. 5 singles, while Keaveney turned in a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 to clinch the league matchup.

"We have a special group of ladies and they continue to be very coachable and supportive," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo. "The crowd was a fun vibe today, too, with a lot of friends and parents making their way out to the match. The ladies have a well-deserved day off tomorrow. We're excited for what's next."

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Berler is undefeated in singles play this season (2-0 at No. 5 | 1-0 at No. 6).
  • Klauck (6-1, 6-1 at No. 6) is now 2-0 in singles action on the year.
  • Ripley Uyeda (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.), Henry, and Martinelli all earned their second victory of the season in singles play today (No. 1, 6-0, 7-5 | No. 3, 6-2, 6-1 | No. 4, 6-1, 6-0).

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (3-1, 2-0 CCC) hosts NCAA Division I Merrimack on Thursday, September 22 at 3 PM. Salve Regina (2-2, 1-1 CCC) welcomes Curry to its campus next Thursday at 3:30 PM.
