Women’s Tennis Places Four On CCC All-Conference List

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's tennis team placed four student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference list, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Headlining the list for the three-time defending champion Gulls were Lejla Guster (Wethersfield, Conn.) and Ripley Uyeda (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) who both earned First Team honors in singles and doubles.

Joining the duo on the All-Conference list were Ashley Keaveney (Exeter, N.H.) and Olivia Martinelli (Coral Springs, Fla.).

Keaveney was selected to the All-CCC Singles Second Team, while Martinelli earned a spot on the Third Team. The pairing also received All-CCC Doubles Third Team accolades.


ALL-CCC SINGLES

Lejla Guster | First Team

Guster was 4-2 overall in singles, including a 1-0 record in conference play. The sophomore went 3-1 in dual matches on the year, including 2-1 at No. 2 and 1-0 at No. 3.

This is Guster's second career All-CCC First Team honor.

Ripley Uyeda | First Team

Uyeda posted a 5-5 overall record in singles play on the year and a perfect 3-0 mark in CCC action. All of her dual matches were played at No. 1 singles (5-3 overall).

This is Uyeda's first career All-CCC First Team award and second career All-Conference honor (third team, 2021).

Ashley Keaveney | Second Team

Keaveney compiled a 5-5 overall record and an unblemished 3-0 ledger in CCC play. Keaveney was 3-2 overall at No. 2 singles and 2-1 at No. 3 singles for the Gulls on the season. In CCC action, two of her wins came at No. 2 over Salve Regina and Nichols, while her other victory occurred at No. 3 versus Roger Williams.

This is Keaveney's first career All-CCC Second Team honor and third career All-Conference award (third team, 2020-21, 2019)

Olivia Martinelli | Third Team

Martinelli notched a 6-4 overall record and an undefeated 3-0 mark in CCC action. She was 5-2 at No. 4 and 1-0 at No. 5 during the fall campaign. Meanwhile, all three of her league victories came at the No. 4 position.

This is Martinelli's first career CCC All-Conference honor.


ALL-CCC DOUBLES

As a team, Endicott went 21-0 in doubles matches during the regular season and 6-0 in the CCC Tournament playing 12 different combinations of student-athletes throughout the year.

Lejla Guster & Ripley Uyeda | First Team

Guster and Uyeda went 9-3 overall on the season and 4-0 in league play, all at the No. 1 position. The duo was 8-2 in dual matches and only dropped four games against CCC opponents during the regular season.

This is the pairing's second career All-CCC First Team award.

Ashley Keaveney & Olivia Martinelli | Third Team

Keaveney and Martinelli registered a 6-3 overall record and a 2-0 showing in conference action, all at the No. 2 flight. The pairing also was 5-2 in dual matches on the year.

This is the duo's first career All-CCC Second Team honor.


WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (11-3) will represent the CCC in the NCAA Division III Tournament later this spring.
