Women’s Tennis Tops Curry On Senior Day, 8-1

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's tennis team defeated Curry, 8-1, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Sunday afternoon at the South Campus Tennis Courts.

Prior to the match, seniors Olivia Berler (Marstons Mills, Mass.), Brittany Dupuis (Hopedale, Mass.), and Ashley Keaveney (Exeter, N.H.) were all honored for their contributions to the women's tennis program and the Endicott community.

All three seniors found their way into the win column in doubles, while Dupuis also picked up a clean 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 6 singles to highlight the match.

In doubles, Dupuis partnered with Isabela Miani (Southington, Conn.) for an 8-2 victory at No. 3 to get the Gulls started. 

Kaitlin Fitzgibbons (Nashua, N.H.) / Ana Mar Molina (Sachse, Texas) followed with an identical score at No. 2, while Berler and Keaveney completed the sweep at No. 1 (8-4).

In singles, Dupuis' swift victory at No. 6 gave Endicott a 4-0 advantage before Molina clinched the match at No. 3 (6-2, 6-1).

The Gulls also saw Yolanda Mendonca (Albany, N.Y.), Ashley Klauck (Magnolia, Texas), and Miani produce triumphs at the No. 4 (6-0, 6-2), No. 2 (6-4, 7-5), and No. 5 slots (6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 15-13), respectively

"In honor of Senior Day, I want to thank Brittany, Olivia, and Ashley for all they've given to the program over the last four years," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo. "It was an emotional and special match for the program."

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott extended its winning streak to four straight matches.
  • Three of the four victories during that span have been 8-1 decisions.

Endicott (7-2, 5-0 CCC) visits Roger Williams on Tuesday, October 11 at 4 PM. Curry (0-10, 0-5 CCC) travels to Gordon on Wednesday, October 12 at 3:30 PM.
