BRISTOL, R.I. — The Endicott women's tennis team defeated Roger Williams, 9-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Tuesday evening.
With the win, the Gulls (8-2, 6-0 CCC) ended the Hawks' 11-0 start to their season and also positioned themselves atop the conference standings as both programs came into play undefeated.
In doubles, Endicott took all three flights by identical 8-2 scores.
The pairings of Shelby Henry (Lincoln, Neb.) / Olivia Berler (Marstons Mills, Mass.), Ripley Uyeda (Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif.) / Lejla Guster (Wethersfield, Conn.), and Ashley Keaveney (Exeter, N.H.) / Olivia Martinelli (Coral Springs, Fla.) earned wins at the No. 3, No. 1, and No. 2 flights, respectively.
In singles, Martinelli gave the Gulls a 4-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4, while Berler clinched the pivotal conference win at No. 5 behind a 6-1, 6-3 score.
Keaveney (No. 3, 6-1, 6-4), Uyeda (No. 1, 6-2, 6-4), Henry (4-6, 6-4, 10-7), and Guster (No. 2, 6-4, 4-6, 10-8) all followed with victories to complete the shutout.

"Our level is strong right now. We have a quick turnaround and will look to refocus tomorrow," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo. "For today, we will enjoy the win and take things as they come."
