BEVERLY, MA - Senior captain Caitlin D'Amario (East Longmeadow, MA/East Longmeadow) and Paula McGinn (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical) were named All New England selections by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the NCAA for their play in the 2006 season.
McGinn, a second team selection, and D'Amario, a third team selection, powered a Gulls offense that outscored opponents 77 to 26 and helped carry the team to the "Sweet 16" in the NCAA Tournament.
McGinn was also named the CCC Player of the year for the second straight season after she tallied 24 goals and three assists for an impressive 51 points. McGinn earned All New England honors despite missing the Gulls final seven games, including the CCC and NCAA tournament, after she suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
D'Amario was selected to the All Region team for the second year in row after scoring 13 goals and seven assists for 33 points. Her excellent touch and decision making helped carry the Gulls to a fourth straight CCC title and a school best showing the NCAA tournament.
D'Amario scored two goals and added two assists over the Gulls final six games, which included three CCC tournament games and three NCAA tournament games, and averaged a point per game during that stretch.
The women won their fourth straight CCC title and made the deepest run into the NCAA's of any Endicott team in school history, finishing at 19-4-1 overall and 11-1 in the CCC.
