SALEM, MA - The Endicott College women's soccer team continued its winning ways Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory over the Salem State Lady Vikings.
The Gulls took an early lead thanks to senior midfielder Kim Shields (Pomfret, CT/Woodstock Academy), who scored midway through the first half to give the Gulls a 1-0 lead. EC would add a second goal when Ashley Clark (West Newbury, MA/Pentucket Regional) scored in the final minute of the first half, giving the Gulls a comfortable 2-0 cushion at half time.
Gulls stayed aggressive as they picked up a third goal from Shannon Pilsbury (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) early in the second frame. Kiera Lyons scored the lone goal for Salem State spoiling the shut out bid for Tina Loguidice (Hyde Park, NY/F.D. Roosevelt), who turned away four shots in the win.
Caitlin Flynn (Mattituck, NY/Southold) tallied two assists on the Shields and Clark goals to help pace the Gulls to the win.
Endicott improves to an impressive 8-1 overall (5-0 CCC) and will resume its CCC schedule on Thursday when they head to Eastern Nazarene College to take on the Crusaders before returning home on Saturday for a game against Anna Maria.
