BEVERLY, MA - The defending CCC champion Gulls earned the top ranking in the conference's preseason coaches' poll. Endicott finished the 2005 season with a 15-4-1 record in route to the schools third consecutive CCC title and NCAA tournament birth.
EC tallied 169 points and received all 13 first place votes to give the Gulls the number one ranking. Rival Gordon College sits in second with 156 points. The Gulls defeated the Fighting Scots in last year's CCC championship game and the two schools once again find themselves atop the conference.
The poll, released Monday, is voted on by the respective coaches of each of the 13 teams in the CCC. Wentworth is ranked third with 137 points, while Roger Williams sits fourth with 128 points and Colby-Sawyer rounds out the top five with 112 points.
