Dudley, MA - The Endicott Women's soccer team returned to it's winning ways on Wednesday afternoon downing conference foe Nichols College 7-0. Sophomore Shannon Pilsbury broke loose for two goals and dished out two assists to lead the Gulls to their tenth conference victory this season. Endicott has outscored all teams in the conference by a margin of forty six goals for while only allowing five. The shut out victory today marks the sixth of the season.
Junior Paula McGinn began the scoring early on a feed from Pilsbury less than the minutes into the game. The Gulls would never look back as they connected for three more tallies in the first half. Junior Erica Hunt finished a cross from Senior Caitlin D'Amario and McGinn closed out the first half scoring her second goal on a long range service into the box from Freshman defender Kellie Lajoie.
The second half began much like the first as the Gulls struck for four more goals. Pilsbury scored the first two goals of the second half, the first on a left footed drive that chipped the head of the keeper. Junior Ashley Clark and Freshman Caitlin Flynn also picked up goals for Endicott to complete the scoring.
Senior goalkeeper Tina Loguidice and Freshman Nicole Lawlor combined for the shutout as the Gulls defense of Staci Wiencko, Megan Sniegoski, Sarah Miller, Kellie Lajoie and Katie Leighton held the Bison to zero shots and only one corner kick.
The Gulls return to action on Saturday, October 14th at 4:00pm against the University of New England. Endicott will be welcoming back it's alum as they celebrate homecoming and will raise their 2005 CCC championship banner.
