ONEONTA, NY - Senior Caitlin D'Amario (East Longmeadow, MA/East Longmeadow) put home two goals in Endicott's season-opening 4-1 win over Hartwick College Saturday in the Erinn Brozman Memorial Cup.
The Gulls (1-0) scored the first goals of the contest, but led just 1-0 at halftime thanks to senior midfielder Kim Shields (Pomfret, CT/Woodstock Academy), who scored in the 17th minute set up by junior Sarah Miller (Nashua, NH/Bishop Geurtin). Miller then sparked a three-goal rally in the second half that spanned six minutes. Miller assisted on D'Amario's first goal in the 60th minute, D'Amario found Paula McGinn (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical) in the 64th minute and D'Amario capped the scoring on a goal in the 66th minute on a feed from Caitlin Flynn (Mattituck, NY/Southold).
Senior netminder Tina Loguidice (Hyde Park, NY/F.D. Roosevelt) played 70 minutes of shutout soccer before giving way to sophomore Amy Meuse (Saugus, MA/Saugus), who relinquished a late goal to Hartwick.
The Gulls will face Ithaca College Sunday afternoon at 1:00 PM in the Memorial Cup Final. The Bombers downed Oswego State, 2-0, Saturday.
