BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott senior women's basketball student-athlete Kaleigh Putnam (Wallingford, Conn.) has accepted an athletic administration graduate assistant position at Springfield College.

In her role at Springfield, Putnam will pursue a master's of education degree while assisting the athletics department with event management, marketing and promotions, and special events.

Other duties will include supervising undergraduate work-study students, organizing tournaments/championships, assisting with the annual golf classic fundraiser, coordinating educational programming, and serving as a resource for the compliance office and the student-athlete leadership team.

"I am so excited to take on this new opportunity. Springfield's program has an unparalleled track record of success when it comes to its alumni," said Putnam. "I know I have the opportunity to gain a tremendous amount of experience from a first-class college athletic department and further my academic pursuits at one of the best college's in our region."

Earlier in the year, Putnam's academic career was featured on www.ecgulls.com via this story on February 18, 2020: "#ThisIsEndicott – Kaleigh Putnam, A Prime Example of How There is No Rush to Determine Your Career Path."

Within that story, Putnam shared how her experiential learning experiences and internships with the Connecticut Sport Management Group, East Lyme Parks & Recreation Department, and  America East Conference (AE) would eventually set the foundation for future success.

That thought process has held true since then and will continue to do so for years to come.

"Endicott has provided me with the knowledge and experience I needed to get this position. All of my professors, supervisors, and coaches have all helped me to build confidence and prepared me for this opportunity," said Putnam. "The internship program at Endicott also prepared me with professional skills over the past four years that I will keep with me and build on for years to come."

Meanwhile, Endicott women's basketball head coach Brittany Hutchinson was quick to point out that Putnam's drive on and off the court also played a pivotal role in her success at The Nest aside from her learning experiences.

"Kaleigh's success at Endicott is primarily due to her drive to be better. She demonstrated a true four-year commitment to both her basketball and leadership skill set. The results of that drive speak for themselves," expressed Hutchinson.

Coach Hutchinson continued in regard to Putnam's will to succeed.

"More importantly, she is relentless in the classroom and sets a tremendous example for her teammates regarding what being a student-athlete really means. I know Kaleigh feels completely prepared and dedicated to furthering her education and for the opportunity to learn from and contribute to a great athletic department like Springfield's. We are so excited to see what the future holds for Kaleigh as she nears her status as an Endicott alumnus. I know Kaleigh's experience at Springfield will help continue to develop her ability to make an impact as a professional in the sport industry."
