Putnam Earns D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region Fourth Team Honors

D3HOOPS.COM ALL-NORTHEAST REGION TEAM

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's basketball senior guard Kaleigh Putnam (Wallingford, Conn.) has been named to the D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region Fourth Team, as announced by the organization yesterday.

The All-Region honor for Putnam is the first of her career and second postseason honor for the senior guard this season (All-Conference First Team selection).

In 30 games played for the Gulls, Putnam averaged 15.2 points per game, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists. She also compiled a 42.9 field goal percentage, a 34.6 three-point field goal percentage, and a 79.2 free throw percentage in those contests.

Putnam's game-by-game highlights included seven games with 20 or more points, a career-high 27 points in a pivotal 84-69 regular season victory over the University of New England (UNE) on February 5, and a game-high 22-point effort in Endicott's first-ever NCAA Tournament win over No. 12/12 Scranton on March 6.

Among her Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) pupils, Putnam ranked first in games played and games started (30), fourth in minutes (937), third in field goals made (164), sixth in field goal percentage, third in free throws made (99) and free throw percentage, No. 16 in defensive rebounds (95), seventh in assists (84), eighth in steals (43), third in blocks (30), second in points (455), sixth in points per game, and seventh in points per 40 minutes (19.4).

Meanwhile, among all NCAA Division III student-athletes, the senior guard is positioned No. 98 in field goals made, No. 73 in final points, No. 104 in free throws made, No. 129 in free throw percentage, and No. 50 in minutes played. 

Putnam also ranks sixth all-time at Endicott in assists (248), seventh in free throw percentage (.781), ninth in block shots (99), and No. 10 in assists average (2.3) and blocked shots average (0.9).

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott went 19-11 overall and 12-4 in CCC play. The Gulls also captured their first-ever conference championship and CCC Championship in program history with a 74-57 victory over UNE on February 29, made its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, won its first-ever NCAA Tournament game against No. 12/12 Scranton, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history, nearly beating No. 20/24 Christopher Newport (74-71 loss).
