WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Endicott women's basketball team fell to Williams College, 62-49, in non-conference action on Saturday evening in game one of the Morin Memorial Tournament, hosted by the Ephs.
Kaleigh Putnam (Wallingford, Conn.) paced the Gulls with 13 points, three rebounds, a block, and one assist.
Meanwhile, Emily Pratt (Gardner, Mass.) contributed 11 points and Shannon Gilbert (Easton, Conn.) had 10 points to round out the list of double-digit scorers for Endicott.
Tied 22-22 with 4:40 remaining in the contest, Williams answered with an 11-6 run to close out the half and never fell behind on the scoreboard from that point on.
Endicott did bring the game within five points (45-40) with 1:09 remaining in the third, but the Ephs responded once again, this time with a 10-0 run that spanned into the fourth quarter (55-40, 6:29) to shore up the victory.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Tonight's game featured two ties and six lead changes.
- Endicott led by as many as seven points (12-5) with 2:48 to play in the first quarter.
- Williams held a 28-16 advantage in the paint and a 16-8 differential in points off turnovers.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (1-2) plays Westfield State University tomorrow in the Morin Memorial Tournament Consolation Game at 1 PM. Williams (3-0) hosts Rhode Island College in the championship game at 3 PM.
