CCC CHAMPIONSHIP: No. 3 Endicott Hosts No. 4 UNE For League Title On Saturday (5 PM)

BEVERLY, Mass. – The third-seeded Endicott women's basketball team (17-10) is set to host fourth-seeded University of New England (20-7) in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on Saturday, February 29 at 5 PM. Here's a preview of Saturday's championship game.

Fans traveling to Saturday's matchup should please be advised that with an anticipated capacity crowd for this weekend's game that the doors will be closed and entrance will be refused when MacDonald Gymnasium reaches capacity. Doors will open at 4:00 PM. Please plan accordingly. Bags and backpacks will not be permitted.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Endicott will make its fifth appearance in the CCC title game on Saturday, while UNE will appear in its 10th CCC Championship game in program history. The Nor'easters are 8-1 all-time in the CCC Championship. UNE has won titles in the following years: 2000-01, 2009-10, 2012-18.
  • Dating back to 2007-08 (based upon available data), Saturday's matchup will be the first between a No. 3 seed and a No. 4 seed during that span.
  • UNE and Endicott split the 2019-20 regular season as the Nor'easters won the first matchup, 75-70, in Beverly on December 4, 2019, while the Gulls responded with an 84-69 victory in Biddeford, Maine on February 5, 2020.
  • Endicott enters Saturday's matchup as the No. 1 ranked offense (70.4 PPG) and No. 4 ranked defense (60.9 PPGA) in the league. Meanwhile, UNE is positioned as the No. 5 offense (62.4 PPG) and the No. 2 defense (56.8 PPGA) in the CCC.
  • UNE enters Saturday's matchup with the best road record among all CCC programs at 10-3 overall.

The winner of Saturday's game will be crowned the CCC Champion and earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
