Putnam’s Career-High Shooting Night Leads Women’s Basketball Past UNE, 84-69

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Endicott women's basketball team defeated the University of New England (UNE), 84-69, in conference action on Wednesday night at the Harold Alfond Forum.

Kaleigh Putnam (Wallingford, Conn.) led the way for the Gulls via a career-high 27 points (8-16 FG, 1-1 3PT, 10-12 FT) alongside five rebounds, three assists, one steal, and a block in the win.

Mikaela Rogers (Haverhill, Mass.) also chipped in with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Emily Pratt (Gardner, Mass.), Morgan Bresnahan (Wilmington, Mass.), and Shannon Gilbert (Easton, Conn.) all scored in double-figures (12, 11, 11), respectively.

As a team, Endicott shot 51.7-percent from the field (31-60 FG, 2-6 3PT, 20-29 FT), outrebounded the Nor'easters 38-36, and dominated points in the paint 40-24. The Gulls also led for 86.7-percent of the contest and never trailed after the 2:51 mark of the first quarter (16-15).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls led by as many as 16 points with 2:44 remaining in the fourth quarter.
  • Endicott is 6-0 when it shoots 45.0-percent or better in a game this season (9-3 40.0-percent or better).
  • UNE's largest lead of the game was only four points (8-4, 6:40, 1st quarter).
  • The Gulls are 7-2 this season when Putnam scores 15 or more points.
  • Endicott handed UNE its second home loss this season.
  • Putnam's previous career-high for points was 22, which she set against Curry (1/26/19) and Coast Guard (11/18/18).
  • The Gulls have won four games in a row dating back to January 28 (Nichols, 102-66 | Salem State, 60-46 | Gordon, 69-68).
