CCC SEMIFINALS: No. 1 Men's Lacrosse Stampedes No. 5 Nichols, 18-3

BEVERLY, Mass. – The top-seeded Endicott men's lacrosse team defeated fifth-seeded Nichols, 18-3, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinals on Wednesday evening at Hempstead Stadium.

The Gulls flew out to an 11-1 lead at the half and never looked back. 

Nick Graap (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and Domenic Russo (Northborough, Mass.) led all scorers with a game-high four goals in the convincing victory. 

Jack Damon (Portsmouth, R.I.) and Nick Pagluiso (Shelton, Conn.) scored twice, while Ethan Cupples (Marshfield, Mass.)Nate Cuttitta (Williston, Vt.)Jack Fiorillo (Mineola, N.Y.)Matthew DiLorenzo (Franklin Lakes, N.J.)Cam Fernandez (Mendham, N.J.), and Tyler Williams (Tigard, Ore.) all notched solo tallies in the won. 

Defensively, Joe Connor (Barrie, Ontario) corralled three ground balls and caused four turnovers.

Thomas Barker (Needham, Mass.) also went 19-21 at the face-off-X with 16 ground balls.

In between the pipes, Tim Luciano (Westport, Conn.) turned away three shots (13-4) in the first 45 minutes of action. 

Christopher Tillotson (Monroe, Conn.) registered three saves, while Daniel Burger (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) finished out the last 3:47 of the fourth.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Endicott advances to the title game for the 10th straight time. 
  • Grapp has scored three or more goals six times this season. 
  • Russo netted his 50th tally of the 2023 campaign (53 total). 
  • Williams potted the first collegiate goal of his career. 
  • The Gulls remain perfect in the all-time series over the Bison (26-0). 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (13-4) will host the winner of No. 3 Salve Regina and No. 2 Western New England (WNE) in the CCC Championship on Saturday, May 6 with a TBD start time. Nichols season comes to a close at 11-8.
