Men’s Lacrosse Pulls Away From Montclair State, 16-10

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's lacrosse team defeated Montclair State, 16-10, on Wednesday evening at Hempstead Stadium.

Leading 7-6 at halftime, the Gulls outscored their opponent 7-0 in the third quarter and never looked back in the matchup.

Nick Pagluiso (Shelton, Conn.) got the offense going at the 13:10 mark of the quarter, while Nick Graap (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), Max Kesicki (Katonah, N.Y), and Jack Damon (Portsmouth, R.I.) followed with tallies at 9:30, 8:18 (UP), and 7:25 to seize all momentum (11-6).

Graap, Thomas Barker (Needham, Mass.), and Domenic Valera (Fitchburg, Mass.) closed out the run (14-6) with goals at 2:13, 2:07, and 1:32, respectively.

Graap went on to lead all scorers with a career-high five goals on eight shots.

Damon, Kesicki, Domenic Russo (Northborough, Mass.), and Valera all potted two tallies, while Cuttitta and Pagluisa finished with one marker apiece.

In goal, Tim Luciano (Westport, Conn.) stopped 14 shots to move to 6-4 on the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls are 2-1 all-time against Montclair State.
  • Endicott fell to the Red Hawks in the first-ever meeting on 3/24/99 (17-11) but bounced back more than a decade later to take game two in the series (W, 8-6; 5/12/10).
  • Both games in the series prior to today were played in Montclair, New Jersey.
  • The Gulls are 5-0 at home this season.
  • Today's contest served as the program's Mental Health Awareness Game.
