Springfield Tops Men’s Lacrosse, 18-12

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Endicott men's lacrosse team fell to Springfield, 18-12, in non-conference action on Wednesday evening at Reese Stadium on the campus of Yale University. 

Matt Wright (Oregon City, Ore.)Domenic Russo (Northborough, Mass.), and Max Kesicki (Katonah, N.Y.) paced the Gulls with three goals apiece.

Endicott also saw Jack Damon (Portsmouth, R.I.)Nick Pagluiso (Shelton, Conn.), and Domenic Valera (Fitchburg, Mass.) bury solo tallies.

The Gulls flew out to an early 3-1 lead in the first quarter behind markers from Wright (12:33), Russo (9:47), and Kesicki (9:28).

However, Springfield countered with an 8-0 run to produce a six-goal differential on the scoreboard and never relinquished its advantage the rest of the way.

Endicott did bring the game back within four goals (15-11) late in the fourth quarter (6:23), but the Pride scored three out of the next four goals to close out their first win of the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Despite the loss, Endicott is 9-8 in the all-time series versus Springfield.
  • Kesicki has scored three or more goals eight times in his collegiate career (fourth this season).
  • Tonight's game was the first neutral site contest of the season for both programs.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (3-3) travels to Bowdoin on Wednesday, March 22 at 7 PM. Springfield (1-4) visits Wheaton (Mass.) on Saturday, March 18 at 1 PM.
