No. 15 Endicott Tops Western New England, 4-1; Kurapov Tallies 100th Career Point

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 15 Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated Western New England, 4-1, in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Friday night at Raymond J. Bourque Arena. 

Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.) registered his 100th career point to highlight the victory.

In the first period (12:03), Kurapov buried a loose puck all alone at the doorstep to become the sixth student-athlete in program history to reach the milestone. He later added an assist on Endicott's second goal of the game (43g-58a—101p). 

The first-line centerman also is the fourth fastest Gull to accomplish the feat (95th career game).

Dominic Garozzo (Sewell, N.J.) added a second chance power play tally in the second period (11:11), while Brad Zona (Auburn, Mass.) and Mark D'Agostino (Branford, Conn.) both scored in the third (8:02, 19:07).

In goal, Ryan Wilson (Shelton, Conn.) stopped 23 shots to move to 3-2-0 overall (22-7-2 career).

  • Endicott leads the all-time series, 19-1-1.
  • The Gulls are 11-0-0 versus Western New England at home during that span.
  • Tommy Besinger (68 games, 33g-71a—104p) was the fastest student-athlete in program history to reach 100 career points.
  • Endicott all-time leading scorer Ross Olsson (55g-79a—134) was the first Gull to compile 100 career points (2/11/18).
  • Fastest to 100 career points list: Besinger (68 games), Olsson (71 games), Josh Bowes (91 games, 56g-61a—117p), Kurapov (95 games), Zach Mazur (97 games, 48g-65a—113p), and Jason Kalinowski (99 games, 37g-72a—109p).
  • D'Agostino potted his first career goal as a Gull.
