Men's Ice Hockey Knocks Off No. 6 Curry, 3-2 (OT)

MILTON, Mass. — The Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated No. 6 nationally ranked Curry in overtime, 3-2, in a Friday evening Conference of New England (CNE) clash at Canton Ice House.

After a scoreless first period, Primo Self (Grand Rapids, Mich.) broke free in transition and tucked a one-timer past the Curry goaltender to hand the Gulls a 1-0 lead in the second (0:55).

The Colonels responded with two consecutive power play goals at the 6:32 and 16:51 marks to pull ahead, 2-1, as the game headed into the third period.

Therien Thiesing (Lynchburg, Tenn.) came up big for the Gulls in the third period, as he knotted things up at two apiece on a blast from outside with just under eight minutes remaining.

That sent the game to overtime, which featured Endicott playing down a man starting the five minute period.

The Gulls successfully killed off the penalty, and with 3:27 left in the overtime period, Dominic Garozzo (Sewell, N.J.) intercepted a Colonels pass, took it the length of the ice, juked out the Curry goaltender, and potted it to walk off the road win for the Blue and Green.

Atticus Kelly (St. Paul, Minn.) swatted away 33 Curry shots in the thrilling overtime victory.
