Sterrett’s OT Game-Winner Cooks Johnson & Wales, 4-3

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – The No. 15 Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated Johnson & Wales, 4-3 OT, in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Saturday night at Lynch Arena.

Jackson Sterrett (Hendersonville, Tenn.) potted a rebound 42 seconds into the extra session for the Gulls' third overtime win of the season (3-1-0 OT).

Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.) initiated the tally when he surged into the offensive zone from the left wing, used a spin move to deke his defender, and snapped a shot on before Sterrett cleaned it up.

Cody Hoban (Guilford, Conn.) and Michael Casey (Media, Pa.) both scored in the first (5:19, SH – 7:50) to push Endicott ahead 2-0, at the time, while Jack Costanzo (Gloucester, Mass.) made it 3-1 in the second (14:42).

In goal, Atticus Kelly (St. Paul, Minn.) made 19 saves to improve to 3-1-0 overall (24-5-5 career).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Sterrett netted his first game-winner of the season (sixth career).
  • Costanzo registered his second career goal and second career multi-point game.
  • The Gulls lead the all-time series 9-0-0.
  • Endicott is 3-0-0 on the road this season.
