No. 4 Endicott, No. 11 UNE Skate To 2-2 Tie (OT); Nor’easters Take Point In Shootout

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 4 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey skated to a 2-2 overtime tie against No. 11 University of New England (UNE) on Friday night in conference action at Raymond J. Bourque Arena. The Nor'easters earned the extra point with a 1-0 victory in the shootout.

Cass Bowes (Sturgeon County, Alberta) provided the offense for the Gulls with tallies in the second (14:24, first goal) and the third (12:17), respectively.

Ryan Willett (Bayville, N.Y.) dished out the primary helper on both goals, while Zach Mazur (Lancaster, N.Y.) notched both secondary assists.

After Bowes' second goal midway through the third, UNE forced the eventual overtime and shootout with a shorthanded tally with 2:40 remaining in the contest.

Atticus Kelly (St. Paul, Minn.) was credited with 22 saves in the tie (9-0-2).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Bowes potted his fifth and sixth goals of the season.
  • Willett ranks first on the team with 18 assists (six multi-assist games; three straight contests with two helpers).
  • Endicott is 9-1-1 at home this season.
  • UNE is 7-2-1 on the road.
