Kurapov, Wilson Claim CCC Weekly Honors

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's ice hockey student-athletes Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.) and Ryan Wilson (Shelton, Conn.) have earned weekly awards from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), as announced by the league office earlier today.

Kurapov was extremely clutch for Endicott last week (1/23-29) as the No. 3 nationally ranked Gulls took on No. 6 Curry in a conference home-and-home series over the weekend.

It was the highest nationally-ranked matchup in the conference's history with the Gulls emerging victorious in both contests.

First, in the opener on the road (1/27), Kurapov assisted on the game-tying goal with less than a minute remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime. He then secured the extra point in the conference standings by scoring the only goal in the shootout.

The next day, Kurapov contributed some late-game heroics once again. He assisted on Endicott's game-tying goal halfway through the final period and then found the back of the net in overtime to give the Gulls the 2-1 overtime win.

Kurapov finished the week with one goal and two assists for three points.

This is Kurapov's first career CCC Player of the Week award and second career weekly honor (rookie of the week, 2/21/22).

Meanwhile, Wilson was the goalie of record in Saturday's (Jan. 28) CCC matchup between the No. 3 nationally ranked Gulls and No. 6 Curry.

He made 25 stops in the contest, earning the win in overtime, 2-1, and had a goals-against average of 0.95 and a .962 save percentage.

This is Wilson's fourth career CCC Goaltender of the Week honor.
