No. 14 Men’s Ice Hockey Routs Salem State In Season Opener, 7-1

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 14 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated Salem State, 7-1, in non-conference action on Friday night at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Connor Amsley (Carlisle, Pa.) highlighted the Gulls with two shorthanded tallies in the second period (5:06, 13:50).

Endicott also received goals from Cam Speck (Burnt Hills, N.Y.), Mitch Shaheen (North Andover, Mass.), Cass Bowes (Sturgeon County, Alberta), Ryan Willett (Bayville, N.Y.), and Connor Beatty (Concord, N.H.).

In between the pipes, Atticus Kelly (St. Paul, Minn.) made 31 saves in his first career start.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Amsley tied Shaheen's school record for most shorthanded goals in a game.
  • Shaheen has scored a pair of shorthanded tallies twice in his career (2/12/22 vs Wentworth, 12/4/21 vs Curry).
  • Endicott's seven goals rank tied for first all-time in a season opener.
  • The Gulls improved to 4-1-3 in season openers.

No. 14 Endicott (1-0-0) hosts No. 15 Norwich tomorrow at 7 PM. Salem State (0-1-0) welcomes Framingham State to its campus on Thursday, November 3 at 7 PM.
