No. 4/6 Baseball Downs Suffolk, 23-4

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 4/6 Endicott baseball team defeated Suffolk, 23-4, in Tuesday afternoon's Conference of New England (CNE) contest at North Field.

WP (5-1): Charlie Hale (Brookline, N.H.) — 2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K
LP (1-1): Nick Arnett (Placerville, Calif.) — 2.0 IP, 10 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 1 BB, 0 K

The Endicott offense exploded once again to quickly bury their in-conference opponents. The Gulls scored five in the first, three in the second, two in the third, two in the fifth, and 11 in the sixth to breeze past the Rams.

John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) and Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.) each logged four-for-four days at the plate, with three singles, a double, and two RBI's apiece. 

Additionally, Zach Stephenson (Mansfield, Mass.), Danny MacDougall (Taunton, Mass.), and Cade Bernardo (Glenmont, N.Y.) all tallied three-hit games in the win, while Joey Frammartino (North Reading, Mass.) and TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) both had two hits.

Bernardo and Elijah Moses (Haverhill, Mass.) both hit tape-measure home runs (Bernardo in the first; Moses in the sixth) as a part of the 25-hit explosion for the Blue and Green.

AJ Hamm (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and Richard Foresteire (Plymouth, Mass.) also each drove in three runs for the Gulls.

Hale got the start for the Gulls and delivered two dominant frames in the predetermined bullpen game. He was seceded by the trio of Nicholas Cannata (Marlborough, Mass.), Jake Harmony (Fairfield, Conn.), and Ben Gill (Sanford, Maine) (2 IP, 2 IP, 1 IP, respectively).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls now hold a 30-14 advantage in the all-time series against the Rams.
  • Endicott entered today's matchup as the highest scoring offense per game in Division III.
  • Hale has not allowed an earned run over his last three appearances (last earned run came on March 16).
  • First four-hit game for Grabowski since May 22, 2022 (NCAA Regionals at Cortland). Mulready logged a four-hit game for the first time since March 3, 2023.
  • Three RBI's are a career-high for Foresteire and Moses.
  • Stephen Ondrick (Weymouth, Mass.) singled in the sixth inning to pick up the first hit of his career (first at-bat).

No. 4/6 Endicott (14-3, 4-0 CNE) travels to UMass.-Boston tomorrow for a 3:30 PM non-conference matchup. Suffolk (7-12, 1-2 CNE) heads to Wheaton on Thursday in a 3:30 PM contest.
