AUBURNDALE, Fla. — The No. 2/5 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team defeated Ramapo, 13-2, on Monday morning in the RussMatt Tournament.
WP (2-0): John Connolly (Attleboro, Mass.) — 5.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
LP (2-1): James Pazdera (New Providence, N.J.) — 4.0 IP, 2 H, 5 R, 2 ER, 6 BB, 6 K
After two full scoreless innings, the Gulls took a 2-0 lead in the third after a Danny MacDougall (Taunton, Mass.) RBI groundout and Zach Stephenson (Mansfield, Mass.) taking home on a wild pitch.
They tacked on three insurance runs in the fourth, highlighted by MacDougall's RBI single. Then, in the fifth, another run came in on another wild pitch.
The Roadrunners scratched across two runs in the bottom of the fifth, but the Gulls responded with four runs in the top of the sixth to give themselves a 10-2 lead. Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.) and Cade Bernardo (Glenmont, N.Y.) each racked up RBI base-hits in the inning. In the seventh, the Blue and Green posted three more runs after an RBI single from Joey Frammartino (North Reading, Mass.) and an RBI groundout from Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood, Mass.) to go up 13-2.
Chris Jenkins (Mansfield, Mass.) stayed on in the seventh after tossing a scoreless sixth inning, and closed out the Roadrunners' bats to wrap up the seven-inning mercy rule win for Endicott.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- With the win, Endicott takes the lead in the all-time series, 3-2. The last matchup between the two programs was on March 12, 2017.
- As a team, the Gulls compiled 11 walks in the game. Stephenson (four) and TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) (three) combined for seven of the 11 walks.
- MacDougall extended his hitting streak to nine.
- AJ Hamm (Shrewsbury, Mass.) extended his hitting streak to seven with his 2-for-4 day. He has logged a hit in every game he's played this season.
- Jenkins improved his ERA to 0.90 through his 10 innings of work this season.

No. 2/5 Endicott (8-2) takes on No. 4/6 Denison this Wednesday at 12:45 PM. Ramapo (6-4) matches up against Wooster tomorrow in a 2 PM first pitch.
