Jenkins Earns D3Baseball.com Team Of The Week Honors

D3BASEBALL.COM 4/9 TEAM OF THE WEEK

BEVERLY, Mass. — No. 4/5 Endicott baseball was represented on the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week by senior right-handed relief pitcher Chris Jenkins (Mansfield, Mass.), the organization announced this past Wednesday.

In Endicott's 4-0 campaign last week (3-0 CNE), Jenkins was a vital part of the bullpen.

The senior chucked seven scoreless innings over two relief appearances, earning the save in both outings. He fanned five hitters, did not walk any, and allowed just one base hit in the seven innings of work (0.14 WHIP).

On Wednesday, April 2 at UMass Boston, Jenkins entered in the sixth inning of a two-run game (no outs, runner on first). The veteran reliever worked his way out of the inning and kept the Beacons scoreless. He proceeded to toss a perfect sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth innings (12 up, 12 down) in his relief outing to earn the save.

He followed up in game one of Sunday's Conference of New England (CNE) doubleheader with WNE. Jenkins came on in relief in the seventh inning, and once again pitched a nearly perfect three innings to earn the save against the Golden Bears (just one hit allowed over his 3 IP).

This is Jenkins' first career D3Baseball.com Team of the Week appearance.
