Whitney, Lacroix Swoop Up CCC Weekly Awards For Second Straight Week

Endicott women's lacrosse weekly conference award winners Emily Whitney and Jennifer Lacroix.

CCC WEEKLY RELEASE

SPRINGFIELD, Mass— Endicott's senior midfielder Emily Whitney (Rye, N.H.) and freshman midfielder Jennifer Lacroix (Wrentham, Mass.) took home Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively, for the week of April 10 to April 16, 2017 as announced today by the conference office.

CCC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Whitney, the reigning CCC Offensive Player of the Week, tied for the team-lead in scoring with 12 points (nine goals, three assists) on the week as the Gulls picked up two more dominating victories to improve to 10-3 overall and 6-0 in conference play. She scored at least four goals in each of Endicott's contests, including a season-high five goals on Senior Day against Emerson to match her season-high with seven points. Whitney also scooped up nine ground balls and caused five turnovers on the week and now is tied for second on the team in goals (30) and assists (17), while being second outright in points (47) and leads the squad in ground balls (39) and caused turnovers (22) in her final campaign.

CCC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Lacroix, the CCC Rookie of the Week for the third straight week, contributed eight points (five goals, three assists) to keep pace with the Gulls' rookies in scoring. Lacroix is currently in a three-way tie for second on the team with 30 goals this season and in third overall in assists (14) and points (44). Lacroix's all-around effort helped Endicott win 14 draw controls, as well as her four ground balls, and one caused turnover proved to help the cause of extending the Gulls' win streak to seven straight games.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (10-3, 6-0 CCC) returns to action in the final home game of the regular season on Wednesday, April 19th at 4:00 p.m. against Curry as the Gulls will look to stretch their current win streak to eight games with two conference contests remaining before the playoffs.
